Weather Today

Was intrigued by John’s first post for Write So Fluid’s ‘Picture A Day’ Challenge so thought I’d jump on the bandwagon! Here goes day 1, ‘Weather Today’…

The snow refuses to melt up here on the hill in Sheffield, though it’s not fallen in days, and disappeared everywhere else in the city. It was pretty to begin with, now it’s just messy. Also, I am what Sheffielders refer to as ‘nesh’. Fearful of the cold. Not the most useful of neuroticisms, but there you have it. I would nip out round the corner from the house to get a lovely picture of as-yet-unmelted snow on the hills in the distance in the Peak District but, well, see aforementioned nesh-ness. Just trust me, it’s there, it’s pretty.

Instead here’s the view out of the studio window.

Footsteps in Snow

No that’s not an Instagram filter. I ditched them due to silly T&Cs. This is EyeEm and Autofocus. YES THEY ARE ON ANDROID. Haters gonna hate, whatevs.

Days like these I’m eternally grateful to work from my cosy home studio. And whilst today it’s tupperware skies a-gogo, yesterday we ventured out into the sun and saw daffodils sprouting, so Spring is officially here… which leads to a neat little segue:
