Performance Awards At BAFTA

‘Moth To A Flame’ won a Certificate of Honourable Mention at BAFTA for the Performance Short Film Awards.

The evening went very well despite my usual trepidation at networking events (see my previous post ‘What to do when you hate Networking‘). As one of the shortlisted films, ‘Moth to a Flame’ was one of 12 shorts selected from over 400 entries, which makes me quite chuffed.

It was a great turnout for Yorkshire too, with two more films made in this region from the same Screen Yorkshire scheme making it into the final six, and one of them taking 3rd prize: Hammerhead, by Sam Donovan. Congrats Sam.

This meant that the networking was actually more like a Screen Yorkshire reunion, so turned out to be a lot of fun: more about catching up rather than schmoozing! My fears about networking were, thankfully, once again proved wrong. I think I may have also made a few new friends and potential work colleagues. Who knows. A successful evening all round.
