Edit: As of August 2010 the Music Store exists no longer! Instead, head over to YouLicense or Premiumbeat to get your mits on some tunes.
I’ve been working for a while now on getting my back catalogue of music that’s available to license for synchronisation to picture up online to increase it’s potential audience.
I’m trying out the YouLicense ‘White Label’ solution for this very purpose: Click to visit the music store here.
It still needs a little bit of tweaking to get it customised, and I have to integrate it into the current site, but it would be really great if you, dear reader, had a moment to go poke around the store and see if it works for you!
I’ve attempted various solutions before hitting on this one, but none allowed for the ease of implementation that this one did. Even though the subscription is slightly above my initial budgeting, I’m hopeful that after a few months, and a bit of targeted marketing, it’ll eventually pay for itself and pull in a bit of passive profit.
And I’m all about the passive income
. Anything to allow me to keep writing music for projects that I enjoy and am really enthusiastic about rather than the biggest paycheck. That’s my holy grail.

Hi Heather! I’m starting to explore youlicense and i would like to know how did it pay off to you so far. And not only sales, any problem with them, etc?
Hi Juan
It’s paid off so far in that I’m either in profit or breaking even each month with the white label site . Their customer service is excellent, and they went above and beyond with the site design to try to make it match the rest of my site. Response time to technical questions is particularly speedy – they were usually back to me with solutions within hours if not minutes. All in all, the perfect package for me.
Would be great to hear how you get on with them if you decide to take up the package!
